Mission Statement
The Mission of this organization shall be twofold:
To enhance the professional goals of its membership, and
To further the growth of the profession primarily on a state level
The purpose of this Association shall be:
The progressive development of the therapeutic use of art
The advancement of research
The improvement of standards of practice
The development of criteria for the training of art therapists
The provision of means for the exchange of information and experience
To uphold the purposes and objectives of the American Art Therapy Association (AATA)
The objectives of this Association shall be:
To aim treatment most effectively toward rehabilitation and the improvement of human welfare
To improve the effectiveness of those engaged in art therapy, be means of meetings and seminars
To encourage the development of professional training opportunities in art therapy
To attract people to the field of art therapy
